Rajma chawal my style- Red kidney beans curry

I wanted to eat  rajma butnot in authentic rajma chawal style. I created my own way of rajmaand my husband really loved it more than the traditional style. Here is tge recipe which is easy,simple and quick.


INGREDIENTS

Rajma (Red kidney beans ) : 2 cups
Tomatoes : 3 medium
Tomato paste : 3 tablespoon
Potatoes :  2 medium
Onion : 1 large

Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
whole dry red chilli : 3 number
Garlic cloves : 3
 Mustard seeds : 1/2 teaspoon
Hing (asafeotida powder) 1/2 teaspoon
oil

Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/2teaspoon
Garam Masala powder : 1/4 teaspoon
Coriander powder : 1/2 teaspoon
aamchur powder : 1/2 teaspoon


METHOD


1.  Soak  kidney beans in 4 cups water for 4 to 6 hours.

2. Take soaked beans , chopped tomatoes and turmeric powder and 1 tablespoon oil in pressure cooker and   pressure cook till soft (5-6 whistles or  for 15-20 minutes after pressure builds ) .

3. Add potatoes (peeled and cut diagonally) and tomato paste and dry masala powders and boil till potato is tender.

4.  Take oil in sauce pan heat on medium flame and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds,  garlic cloves, dry red chilli and let it all heat 2 minutes. Add onion chopped and fry for  3 minutes till onion is translucent. Add  hing ( asafeotida powder) and turn off heat. Add this tempering bagaar to beans.
